macro-inc/macro gained 825 stars in a single day, a jump that dwarfs its own prior size. anthropics/skills added a similar raw number, 752, but spread over two days on a base nearly a hundred times larger. Four other repositories crossed our audit's records for the first time today, and one of them — a password-recovery lookup tool — hasn't had a commit in 702 days.
The overnight jump
The case file on macro-inc/macro opened yesterday at 1,762 stars. Today it reads 2,587 — a gain of 825 in a single day, pushed with a commit as recent as today. Whatever brought it into today's trending measurement, it wasn't a new commit. Nothing in our data says why a two-year-old, unmaintained-looking repository surfaced now; we measure the movement, not the cause.
Absence of recent activity in holehe's log means we found none in the last 702 days — not that the work behind it is careless. But it's a fact worth checking yourself before you build on it.
